TRADISI CAROK PADA MASYARAKAT MADURA MENURUT PERSPEKTIF TEORI RELATIVISME MORAL

Abstract

The madurese are known to have a distinctive, unique culture, stereotypical, and stigmatik. Madurese attitude which can easily be offended her self esteem, and melampiaskannya by performing acts of violence either by other ethnic carok rated as negative stereotypes. Outsider Perspective that is not so understand the cultural values of Madura, will assess that the action is a description of the lack of morality carok, when thought about the moral to a culture not like that. This research is a library research, with the object of research in the form of books, articles, scholarly journals, and internet search results. As for the method used in this research are: describe the carok as part of the culture of Madura, interpret and understand moral values contained in Carok, analyzing the data to get the meaning, evaluating the basic concepts or meanings contained in Carok by pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of such concepts, and reflect on the moral values of the tradition of community life in Carok. The results shown, Carok is the ritual of restoration of self-esteem when we- Stampede by others, related to property, and women. The bottom line is for honor. Carok as the only way that is considered by the madurese as a way to maintain self-esteem, can not be understood in such a way with other communities outside of Madura. This shows that the culture of carok is relative, meaning that the carok is the only way that meet the sense of Justice in the solve a problem or disagreement to the madurese, but not the same is the case with other communities outside of Madura. The community outside the island might consider that an act of murder carok is despicable and violate the law in Indonesia. Indonesia is increasingly people today increasingly showed his true identity that always like to accentuate her intensity. This is due to the attitude of society increasingly strong individuality. There is no tolerance in view of individuality, so that when individuals engage in a relationship with another individual, not seldom thus end up with conflict
