The article drawn up on the basis of material collected from surroundings of
Łódź is an attempt of the answer to a question of verbal equivalents corresponding to
the thinking of country dwellers about celebrations of the Corpus Christi. In rich and
diversified lexical-phraseological field were founded names concerning theological
and doctrinal issues, associated with liturgy and the ceremony of sacraments etc., but
also names combining with observances both with the one which has the Christian
form and interpretation as well as having exclusivelly folk character and demonstrating
no direct revelanse with church liturg
