Sustentabilidad económica de la ganadería bajo riego: análisis de inversión predial

Abstract

Tesis para optar al título de Magister en Economía Agraria y Administración Rural de la Universidad Nacional del Sur en 2014La producción de carne vacuna bajo riego en la región del Valle Inferior del Río Negro asoma como una de las soluciones a la insuficiente oferta de animales para faena en la Norpatagonia acentuada por la ampliación de las áreas libres de aftosa sin vacunación. Se describe el proceso de transformación del monte nativo en cultivos forrajeros con irrigación por gravedad y se detalla una propuesta técnica sustentable. Esta se basa en la rotación de cultivos anuales como el maíz para silaje o la cebada para cosecha con cultivos perennes como las praderas consociadas, y en la aplicación de prácticas de manejo como el pastoreo rotativo y la suplementación estratégica. Se incorpora en los ingresos el arrendamiento anual de una pequeña superficie destinada al cultivo de cebolla.The production of beef under irrigation in the lower Valley of the Rio Negro region looms as one of the solutions to the insufficient supply of animals for slaughter in the Northern Patagonia accentuated by the enlargement of areas free of FMD (food and mouth disease) without vaccination. Describes the process of transformation of the native forest in forage crops with irrigation by gravity and outlined a sustainable technical proposal. It is based on rotation of annual crops as silage maize or barley harvest with perennials like the mixed grasslands, and practices of management as the rotating grazing and strategical supplementation. The annual lease of a small area dedicated to the cultivation of onions is incorporated in income. The results indicate the feasibility of an investment project of these characteristics, until relations of purchase/sale of 1.3 and increases in the purchase price of the irrigable area of the field to 1920 U$/ha. Sources of financing with low interest rates and grace periods increase the net present value of the project. This would generate, as well as foods such as beef and onion, substantial revenue to the State national and Provincial in the form of taxes.EEA Valle InferiorFil: Cariac, Germán.
