Here are some ways that our scholars are already getting involved with their communities, and some options for you to do the same!Publication opportunities! THE HUMAN TIMES, VOL. 2 DECEMBER-JANUARY 2016Omega Eta Epsilon, Pacific’s professional language and literacy fraternity, has partnered with the Stockton Homeless Shelter to provide books to children between the ages of two and ten years. During the first week of December, they sold donuts and collected donations to raise a total of $300 in profits! For more information about the shelter, visit http://                        stocktonshelter.org.  Consider donating your time or money to a local nonprofit organization. The Emergency Food Bank of Stockton seeks to provide healthy food and nutritional education to those in need. They accept donations of both food and money. For more information, visit www.stocktonfoodbank.org/get-involved/donations.aspx.If you’re an animal lover, you can also check out the Delta Humane Society, a no-kill animal shelter here in Stockton. They provide housing, medical care, and adoption services for lost or homeless pets in San Joaquin county, and are always looking for support in the form of volunteers or donations of supplies. A major part of our mission as Scholars is to use the resources at our disposal to give back to the communities of which we are a part. So get into the spirit and find some ways to spread compassion— not only during the holiday season, but every month of the year.
