Nobody's gonna hassle the fact that drugs make you 
fell groovy. Sure, bad trips aren't cool, but that's 
not the point. Turning on is a gas, so why lie about it? 
Only one problem, though. Nope. We' re not gcnna 
rap about messing up DNA and all that heavy trip. 
Unfortunately, human nature is too selfish to worry 
about the next generation. At least, for most cats 
that's the way it is. 
But that's not the message we want to lay on you. 
That might all be important, but what you need to flash 
on to is something much heavier that that. You dig? I 
mean, like what's most inportant is getting your head 
together right new! 
Sure, drugs sometimes seem like heaven, but let's 
face it. They don"t heal the nitty gritty fragmentation 
we experience on the inside. That's right! Turning on 
feels like a groove, but crashing back only makes us 
face the fact that we're still pretty messed-up dudes. 
What a bunrner! 
The message we want to lay on you hits us on two 
important levels. (1) Getting high and staying that way. 
(2) Getting it together up in the head—being healed in 
our mind and emotions. Pretty heavy, Huh? 
Wfell dig this, brothers and sisters! There is a 
trip that makes you high without spacing you out and 
making you worthless. This trip turns you on at a 
deeper level than physical sensations and feelings. 
That means it satisfies in a much deeper dimension. 
But more that that, this trip is eternal. Dig it? 
I mean like no crashes. This kind of high turns you 
orv and keeps you that way—no matter where your head's 
at!! 
Vfell, we're not rapping about positive thinking 
or playing religious games. Nope. That's just as 
phony as the drug trip. We're rapping about a Person-
Jesus Christ. And if you can dig Him (that means to 
depend on Him to put your head together) then you're 
in for seme heavy surprises!! He'll turn you on to a 
spiritual high for the rest of forever.

back from confusion and an upure 
soul, but righteousness is mine 
and God will not forsake me.

to all that happiness has to 
offer, 
secure in His love.

with me .... with the light of the Lord's

THE LORD OF LIGHTS

How swift you are to leave your 
loves behind! 
How easily you are deluded, and 
so quickly given to greed!

It was HE, not LSD!

Why then, did you follow the dark one?

Were you so blind that you couldn't 
tell the difference? 
What fools we were — how easily led 
away — quick to lose faith ... 
How quick to turn from love to hate 
you've failed, you've failed. 
Oh pray for forgiveness, weep and mourn 
For you have let down 
the Lord of Light. 
You turned your back and went the

Don't die, for Jesus loves you! 
He still waits, it's not too late — 
You've said "destroy all that's wrong!"

He's alone, you've left Him alone.

If you'll but love Him!

strength to defeat the club 
With the toungue! Can't you speak? 
Speak where all can hear! 
Speak truth! 
Be righteoud, do not destroy, 
Rather, build! 
For help, turn to the Lord of Light! 
Fill your heart with His love 
Do what's right! 
Oh young people! we had it once 
But defeated at first test (drugs) 
Where was our strength? 
For we are afraid, wake up 
Wake upl and Serve the Lord Jesus 
the 
LORD OF LIGHT! 
It's really no big surprise that this generation 
is finally wising up and turning en to Jesus. Sure, 
we had to brake loose frctn the plastic routines we grew 
up under. But we've pretty much prooved our point on 
that score. Now it's time for all of us to really 
flash on to the ultimate trip. 
In Western society the external mask is all that 
shows. Wfe knew that there had to be something behind 
the facade. So we turned on to Eastern mysticism and 
drugs to brake through all the layers of plastic to get 
to our true identity. But guess what? All we found 
was despair and lonliness. 
Too bad we didn't wise up sooner. Jesus already 
told us what we'd find dewn deep inside of ourselves 
and that's really why he came here in the first place-
to fill that ugly emptiness we knew we've all got. 
The important thing is simply this. Haven't we 
finally cote to the point of realizing that all the 
garbage we try to stuff in our empty soul is just 
gonna clog things up all the worse. We thought drugs 
would do a Drano trip in our head and flush out all 
the crud. But drugs just mess things up all the more, 
and that't not cool! 
Jesus came to flush the crud (hate, loneliness, 
frustration, jealousy, bitterness, lack of purpose, 
boredem, ect.) out of our souls so that He could fill 
us with His far-out love! Can you dig it? Dove is 
still possible, brother, no matter hew many times 
you've tried and haven't found it. 
Jesus' love isn't plastic. He gets His love 
directly frcm the Source and that's what makes His 
trip unique. 
I know it's heavy, but Jesus wants to make it 
with your spirit, and if you'll give Him half a 
chanoe He'll turn you on to the heaviest trip going. 
Invite Him to take over in your head and let his 
love heal you right new!

in Los Angeles 
A year ago The Passover was presented on television for 
the first time in Los Angeles. It registered an extra 
ordinary 100,000 Jewish viewers and a large number of 
Christians, and drew over 5000 letters of response. It 
was that beautiful and powerful! This year it will 
be repeated; a full half-hour, in color, in prime time. 
Perhaps its great appeal is that it draws together 
people of all faiths, and people searching for faith. 
It is both a source of inspiration for Jew, a corner­
stone of the Christian heritage, and a key to all man­
kind's search for peace. For an experience that might 
well bring new enlightenment and perspective into your

"Jesus-Rock is going to be big", the record executives 
all agree as they sit in the mandatory smoke filled 
roexn. It is decision making time and they have decided. 
Now their talent scouts must comb the country looking 
for groups who can ride the crest of the Jesus wave. 
Necessity is once again a mother as the record companies 
strive for authenticity and settle for pure invention. 
Five years ago Capital Records told me I couldn't sing 
about Jesus; it would be too controversial and most 
assuredly ruin my career. Now they are begging, as are 
other record labels, for someone to sign vp vho will 
headline and personify musical leadership in this new 
"Jesus Trip." All that they have ccme up with so far 
are offerings frcm pap singers who have little more 
than a passing commercial interest in what they consider 
a "Jesus Fad" and try to reduce the spiritual revolution 
to a top twenty single. 
Let's look at the music field. There hasn't been one 
real song about Jesus, except for "Happy Day" vhich 
was an effervescent version of a song from out of the 
traditional church hymnal. 
"Let it Be" and "God, love, Rock and Roll" do not ring 
clearly of Jesus. They, like "Fire and Rain" and "Put 
Your Hand in the Hand" and most of the other "Jesus 
Songs" are not Jesus songs at all, but merely "brother­
hood—peace—we are all one" songs that include Jesus' 
nane as a currently acceptable example of a culture 
hero with peaceful intentions. 
That "Bridge over Troubled Waters" makes no mention 
of Jesus whatsoever, but is consistently catagorized 
as a Jesus-song. 
Songs that do mention Jesus, like "Spirit in the Sky" 
paint God as a nebulous spirit "up there" and mention 
Jesus but contradict His message. "live never been 
a sinner, I've never sinned, cause I have a friend in 
Jesus" the song says, although the Bible and Jesus 
Himself clearly tells us that we've all sinned and 
have fallen short of the glory that God intended 
for man. 
"Jesus Christ Super Star", the theatrical rock-
musical, shows Jesus as a gentle philosopher who 
started believing His cwn publicity and got hung 
up about it. In this musical, Judas Iscariot 
ccmes out the hero. 
So there is no real Jesus music out yet. No music 
that really sees Jesus as the Son of God who died 
for our personal salvation. 
The real music is around alright. It's just that when 
recording company executives hear tapes by Christian 
singers they overlook it. Not because it is musically 
inept, but because there is something disturbingly 
convicting and involving about the music. It can't be 
passed over lightly and relegated to "entertainment" so 
it must be ignored. 
The real music remains outside of cardboard record 
jackets and can only be found on the lips of the Jesus 
people, the Christians. 
Record companies would do well to look in churches and 
prayer meetings for the singers of Jesus music instead 
of in dark night clubs. But there is not much chance 
of this happening. The industry is historically satis­
fied with appearance more than substance. A quick 
dime in place of an honest dollar. 
Unless there is an outpouring of real Jesus music onto 
radie, this temporary musical preoccupation with Jesus 
will pass. The "Jesus Fad" will be over and the music 
industry will soon suck the bucks frcm another source. 
The people who were halfway receptive or open to Jesus 
will pass on also, because thaty will not have any­
thing real to hold onto. 
But, If the real music could make it's way into the 
media and make the public aware of a personal relation­
ship with God, the industry itself will surely pass 
onto another fad, but thousands of its followers will 
remain behind, because they will have found cut that 
Jesus is more than a by-word of the early seventies, 
password to popular sales. But that He is a 
e^n/ue/ion 
and

I really dig the "Paper" because I know 
that a lot of people are hearing about the truth 
of Jesus because of it. Keep telling it like 
our Lord says it is! 
Also, I just have to say praise the Lord 
because he's done so much for me; He has really 
given me a reason for living like no one else 
ever could. 
Please pray that Jesus will never become 
just another fad to some people, but that people 
will really know Jesus as their Savior, Liberator, 
and frigid. After all, Jesus is the ONLY way, and 
anything short of trusting in HI/i, Just won't 
make it.

Cecil B. DeMille's motion picture masterpiece, the 
original "King of Kings", not the later MGM release, 
is showing in Hollywood again during Easter Vteek, 
April 5-9, 1971, at the Pacific Pantages Theatre, at 
Hollywood and Vine. Admission is free. 
More than two billion people have seen this picture 
since its premiere in the film capitol forty-four years 
ago. 
The film is presented by the Hollywood Ministerial Asso­
ciation with the cooperation of Pacific Theatres, Pro­
jectionists Union 150, the Hollywood Chamber of Cormerce, 
and many civic leaders and organizations. 
Last season, more than 6,500 people saw the picture in a 
four day run, and hundreds were turned away on Good 
Friday.

Hollywood YMCA and Hollywood Chamber of Ccmnerce, and

I am one of the millions of people that read 
the HOLLYWOOD FREK PAPER. I just want to say this 
Sunday when I got Volume 3. Issue 3 on Spir­
itual Revolution Day, I read the letter from a 
U.S. soldier in Viet Nam to his sister. It really 
got me. I looked up in my Bible at home that 
verse (Psalms 91:7) and read over and over it. 
To think that God saved his life: And all he had 
to do was ask God to! Listen to me. God should­
n't have to prove to all of you that He loves you. 
That He sent His son Jesus Christ to save your 
sins. The fact that He did it once to somebody 
else should make you people believe! Think about 
Pray! But do one thing for all us Jesus 
People: Accept Christ as you savior, and believe. 
Go out into the world and witness.
