A literatura afro-brasileira em um Centro de Educação Infantil do município de São Paulo

Abstract

Afro-Brazilian literature in an Early Childhood Center in the city of São PauloResumoO artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa que objetivou compreender como a literatura afro-brasileira é trabalhada com as crianças em um Centro de Educação Infantil (CEI) em São Paulo. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, que teve como procedimentos: análise documental, entrevistas com as docentes e levantamento do acervo de obras de literatura afro-brasileira do CEI. O referencial teórico dialogou com os estudos da infância, da literatura e das relações étnico-raciais. A análise dos dados revelou que o trabalho com a literatura é bastante valorizado no CEI; contudo, neste, não é considerada a questão da diversidade cultural e étnica; e, embora as professoras, em sua maioria, reconheçam a importância de trabalhar com essa literatura, alegam não ter formação para tal intento.Palavras-chave: Literatura afro-brasileira; Creche; Criança negra. AbstractThe article presents the results of a research that aimed to understand how Afro-Brazilian literature is worked with children in a Center for Early Childhood Education (CEI) in São Paulo. This is a qualitative research, which had as procedures: documentary analysis, interviews with teachers and survey of the collection of works of Afro-Brazilian literature of the CEI. The theoretical framework dialogued with the studies of childhood, literature and ethnic-racial relations. Data analysis revealed that work with literature is highly valued in the CEI; however, in this, the issue of cultural and ethnic diversity is not considered; and although most teachers recognize the importance of working with this literature, they claim to have no training for such intent.Keywords: Afro-Brazilian literature; Nursery; Black child.
