Relatos de participação no bullying: tipos e consequências

Abstract

Reports of participation in bullying: types and consequencesResumoO artigo analisa depoimentos de universitários a fim de compreender algumas das dimensões psicossociais envolvidas em uma forma específica de violência, o bullying, na vida escolar. Descreve os principais tipos de agressão relatados bem como as características atribuídas àqueles que sofreram o bullying. O artigo também reflete sobre os principais papéis desempenhados neste tipo de violência, o modo como os envolvidos se autodenominam enquanto participantes no bullying e as consequências desta violência escolar em suas vidas. As formas de participação relatadas foram: a) vítima; b) observador; c) provocador. Constatou-se, porém, que nem sempre a autodenominação no bullying coincidiu com o relato do/a entrevistado/a. As vítimas e/ou observadoras do bullying destacaram como consequências psicossociais: baixa autoestima, insegurança pessoal, receio ao estabelecer relações de amizade/amorosas e, em alguns casos, maior envolvimento com atividades escolares.Palavras-chave: Violência escolar; bullying; teoria crítica. AbstractThis paper analyzes the narrative of university students in order to understand some psychosocial dimensions involved in a specific form of violence in the school life: the bullying. This paper also reflects on the roles played by the students in bullying intertwined to the self-recognized roles of these students in such situations, as well as on the consequences of school violence in their lives. The reported forms of participation were: a) victim; b) observer; c) aggressor. However, it was found that self-denomination in bullying did not always coincide with the interviewee's report. The psychosocial consequences described by the victims and/or the aggressors were: low self-esteem, personal insecurity and fear of establishing friendship and/or affective relations. In some cases students also reported to get more involved in school activities.Keywords: School violence; bullying; critical theory.
