Long Theater November 18, 8:00 PM  November 19, 6:00 PM and 12:00 AM  Hope Street, an organization that helps offer education, healthcare, and job opportunities to the underprivileged, is giving us the chance to work with them once again this year. Keep an eye out for more information from Matthew Spain in mid-November. Omega Eta Epsilon, Pacific’s professional language and literacy fraternity, will be partnering with the Stockton Homeless Shelter to provide books to children between the ages of two and ten years. They will be tabling outside the UC around noon every day during the last week of November. 2THE HUMAN TIMES, VOL. 1 NOVEMBER 2016STRUCTURING THE SCHOLARS COMMUNITY This semester, we plan to realize a long-considered goal of the Humanities Scholars Program: establishing a mentoring system. We aim to pair up freshman scholars with a second, third, or fourth year scholar who has similar interests, passions, and career goals. The purpose of this program is to help freshman scholars navigate the sometimes complex process of acclimating to university life while strengthening the community of the scholars program as a whole.  Upperclassmen scholars, if you think you may be taking on a freshman to mentor this semester, please contact Kathryn Harlan-Gran at k_harlangran@u.pacific.edu.
