Perceções Futuras da População Reclusa Portuguesa face à Ressocialização: estudo quantitativo e qualitativo no Estabelecimento Prisional do Vale do Sousa
A presente investigação tem por objetivo central a elaboração de uma investigação que
pretende obter mais conhecimentos relativos à relação entre as perceções dos reclusos face ao
futuro e o fenómeno da reincidência. Dado a escassa investigação nesta área em Portugal, considerou-
se importante e pertinente compreender e estudar este tema, cujos objetivos se centram
no que poderá levar ao sucesso ou insucesso da ressocialização, o que farão os reclusos aquando
a liberdade, em que medida o tratamento prisional, o tempo de reclusão, a experiência intramuros,
bem como as suas vivências passadas (antes da reclusão) e a capacidade de antecipar problemáticas
aquando a liberdade terão relação com o fenómeno da reincidência, de acordo com
olhar dos participantes neste estudo.
Primeiramente, foi feita uma revisão literária que se centrou na recolha de informação
acerca do tratamento prisional, perceções sociais, ressocialização e reincidência. De forma a
alcançar estes objetivos, a investigação realizou-se em dois momentos: recolha de dados através
de um questionário (momento quantitativo) e realização de entrevistas (momento qualitativo)
ambos realizados com reclusos do sexo masculino afetos ao Estabelecimento Prisional do Vale
do Sousa (EPVS).
Os resultados obtidos após a conclusão deste estudo, permitirão identificar quais as perceções
face a este fenómeno através de uma amostra da população reclusa portuguesa acerca
desta temática, bem como refletir sobre a urgência da criação de programas de acompanhamento
aos reclusos após a sua libertação, que se apresentam escassos em Portugal.The main objective of the present study is the elaboration of an investigation that intends
to achieve more knowledge about the relation between the perceptions about future of the inmates
about phenomenon of recidivism. Because, Portugal have a sparing investigation in this
area, it was considered important and pertinent to understand and study this subject, which
objectives are centered on what could lead to the success or failure of resocialization ; what will
the prisoners do when they go free, on which way : extend prison treatment, prison time,
between walls experience, as well as their past experiences (before confinement) and the ability
to anticipate problems whem they become realesed; will be related to the phenomenon of recidivism,
according to the study participants.
Firstly, a literary review was made, focusing on the collection of information about prison
treatment, social perceptions, resocialization and recidivism. In order to reach these objectives,
the investigation was carried out in two moments: data collection through a questionnaire
(quantitative moment) and interviews (qualitative moment) both carried out with male inmates
with the EPVS.
The results achieved after the conclusion of this study will allow us to identify perceptions
of the recidivism phenomenon through a sample of the portuguese prison population on
this subject, as well as to reflect on the urgency of creating follow-up programs for prisoners
after their release, which are slighty in Portugal
