Design and development of a human-machine interface and graphical user interface for speed doppler log

Abstract

TFG del programa Erasmus EPS elaborat a Fachhochschule Kiel University of Applied SciencesTreball desenvolupat dins el marc del programa 'European Project Semester'.The ELAC DL3000 (Doppler Speed Log) is a device that is of the upmost importance to all seafaring navigators. To measure the speed of a vessel at sea and to determine its position it is necessary to measure this value relative to a stationary object, for example take the seabed, which will then display the value of the speed of the ship travelling over ground. Furthermore, is also can determine the water flowing past the hull thus determining a detailed reference of the velocity of the ship moving through water. The objectives are as follow a) To propose several suitable solutions for displaying this information that is collected from the DL300 device so that it can be observed and optimized for the user, this includes the numerous concerns of the specific properties that such a display would need to have to adequately survive and be of use on a naval vessel b) Once varies displays have been identified and compared to the specifications that are provided, an appropriate graphical user interface is to be designed and programmed into the system to allow the acquired date to be displayed in the most convenient way and to provide a modern version of the displays currently available
