Foi realizado um estudo farmacobotânico das folhas de Lippia sidoides Cham. para fins diagnósticos. Observou-se que a espécie segue o padrão geral da familia verbenaceae. Os seguintes caracteres histológicos foram considerados importantes na diagnose: ausência de drusas e cristais prismáticos de oxalato de cálcio; o mesofilo de organização dorsiventral com parênquima paliçádico unisseriado; os tricomas tectores simples, cônicos, formados por 1-3 células; e os tricomas glandulares sésseis ou de pedículos formados por 1-3 células com capitel simples ou raramente septado.Pharmacobotanical study of the leaf of Lippia sidoides Chain. was realized with diagnostic aims. It was observed that the species follows the general pattem of the family. In the present study some of the histologycal characteristics were considered of fundamental importance to the diagnosis: absence of calcium oxalate prismatic crystals and druses (cluster crystals); the dorsiventral organization of the mesophyll with one layer of palisade tissue; non-glandular trichomes, conical, consisting of 1-3 cells; glandular trichomes with simple or septate heads on staks of 1-3 cells .Colegio de Farmacéuticos de la Provincia de Buenos Aire
