My essay intends to explore the definition of the anti-hero and the narrative function of this figure. The concept of anti-hero clearly has a central role as a tool of both narrative structures and genres. Starting from the typology of the anti-hero and some literary examples I will analyse the many adaptations of this narrative device into different forms of expression like theatre, literature and cinema, and in particular, TV series.Il saggio intende affrontare la definizione del concetto di antieroe e comprenderne la funzione narrativa. Il concetto di antieroe sembra infatti svolgere una funzione centrale come strumento di sovversione delle strutture e dei generi narrativi. Partendo da una tipologia dell’antieroe e da alcune sue esemplificazioni letterarie vengono passate in rassegna le numerose migrazioni del dispositivo narrativo in differenti forme espressive (teatro, letteratura, cinema) fino a giungere al suo uso più recente nelle serie televisive
