The r esults of treatments with Enide in Kentucky in 1967 have been somewhat variable; therefor e, until additional information is obtained and the tobacco grower becomes more experienced in applying the chemical , it should be used on a trial ba~is. When and How to f..pply Mter Mar ch 10 9 when the weather permits and the air temperature is 50°F or above, Enide can qe used. Apply immediately after seeding with a back=pack or low pressure sprayer at a rate of 3 to 5 gallons of water pel' 1000 square feet. A sprinkler irrigation of a:t least 1/2 inch of water should follow the application. Rate to Use Use 4 1/2 ounces or 1 1/ 2 cupfuls of Enide 50W per 1000 square feet (10 ' x 1001). This would be appr oximately 4 ounces in a 9' x 100' bed and 5 ounces in a 12 ' x 1001 bed. Do not use at a higher rate.
