Elevated levels of cardiometabolic markers are characteristic of normal pregnancy; however, insulin resistance and increased glucose, triglyceride, and cholesterol levels can adversely influence maternal and child health. Diet is a modifiable behavior that could have significant impact on maternal cardiometabolic levels during pregnancy.
