Udem serebri sebagai komplikasi eklamsia Laporan Kasus

Abstract

Background: Eclampsia is a rare case, complicates approximately 0,3% of pregnancies and only about 6% of all cases resulting from diffuse cerebral edema. Convulsion in eclampsia is associated with reversible cerebral edema. A comprehensive knowledge of cerebral edema pathophysiologic condition is essential to establish standart pattern of clinical decision making and treatment in eclampsia. Purpose: This presentation showed the role of antiedema medication in reducing diffuse cerebral edema in eclampsia. Methods: Reporting a case diagnosed as cerebral edema complicating eclampsia. Results: A woman 38 years old with intracranial hypertension syndrome and mental status changes that indicated an encephalopathy in postpartum eclampsia. This syndrome of eclampsia is associated with diffuse cerebral edema that is showed in head CT scan examination. This patient have a decrease of consciousness along the development of this illness but immediately recover after the treatments with manitol, magnesium sulfat, furosemide and nifedipin which have an effect of cerebral antiedema. Conclusion: We have reported one case that Immediately antiedema medication which have an effect on both cytotoxic and vasogenlc edema improved the clinical manifestation of cerebral edema in eclampsia.
