Soil moisture-suction relationship of allophanic and halloysitic soils were investigated by conducting laboratory test. In comparison with other soil types which did not contain allophane and halloysite, the residual volumetric water content was high. This was due to the water retained inside the micropores in allophanic soil and the intra lattice water in halloysitic soil.
