Hubungan Antara Kadar Plumbum (Pb) Dalam Darah Dengan Hipertensi

Abstract

ABSTRACT Environment is one of factors of hypertension disease. Exposure of Plumbum (Pb) or lead in low level for a long-term caused clinical effects. Relationships between hypertension with high and low level blood lead as biologic indicator of recent exposure was debated. This study aimed to determine the difference proportion of hypertension in low and high level blood lead and determine pattern of association blood lead and sistolic blood pressure or diastolic blood pressure. Study conducted on 129 operators of gasoline stations (SPBU) in center of Jakarta. Sampling is done by proportional random sampling. Variables are measured include hypertension as a dependent variable and blood lead as an independent variable. Confounding variables included duration of exposure, age, history of disease, stress, overweight, and habits (smoking, alcohol intake and salt intake). Data is collected by interview with using questionairre instrument. Blood pressure was measured by digital Sphygmomanometer and blood lead analyzed with AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry)-GFA (Graphite Furnace Atomization). Data analyzed by Chi-square, T-test, Linier regression and multiple logistic regression. Result revealed that hypertensive proportion in high level of blood lead is higher than low level with differences 33% (
