Para tanto, o objetivo é clarificar alguns conceitos sobre a poluição atmosférica, emissões gasosas provenientes dos escapamentos dos ônibus urbanos movidos a óleo diesel, prejuízos à saúde e, a partir daí, propor uma alternativa de combustível menos nocivo à saúde humana e ambiental. A base do combustível adotada como alternativa é o gás natural que reforça o conceito de redução de emissões. O estudo de caso é realizado na Cidade de Curitiba onde um corredor de transporte será analisado para veículos a gás natural em substituição do atualmente utilizado a dieselAbstract: This paper brings out an urban public transportation in search of affordable development. Therefore, the objective is to clarify some concepts: about atmospheric poluition, gas emission originating from the mufflers of urban buses that run on diesel, hazards to health and, from there, offer an alternative gas less harmful to the human health and to the environment. The gas source take as an alternative is natural gas that reinforces the concept of lowering the gas emission levels.
