Dangerous pleasures : the contract and the body erotization in sadomasochistic sceneries

Abstract

Sadomasochistic experiences are examined in this article in order to uncover links between gender and sexuality. As new expressions of the contemporary erotic market, such practices allow the refinement of the analysis of complex social processes related to the expansion or restriction of sexual normativities. In particular, it enables further knowledge on the creation of greater tolerance spheres, on the new rules being imposed, and on situations in which what is considered abusive becomes qualified as normal. © 2015, Centro em Rede de Investigacao em Antropologia.
