Functional Group Selective Ion-molecule Reactions

Abstract

The mechanistic details and potential applications of ion-molecule reactions were studied. Gas phase ion-molecule reactions was placed at the center of attention in mass spectrometry. The combination of conventional and new ionization and multiple-stage mass spectrometry techniques provide access for mass spectrometrists to a world of gaseous ions, reaction environments, and ion characterization methods. Functional group selective ion-molecule reactions will certainly found increasing applications in a variety of fields.1314Staley, R.H., Corderman, R.R., Foster, M.S., Beauchamp, J.L., (1974) J. Am.
