Application Of A Multivariable Input-output Subspace Identification Technique In Structural Analysis

Abstract

This paper presents a multivariable subspace-based identification method applied to experimental modal analysis. The method shows its efficience in the identification of data, which is contaminated by an amount of external noise. Numerical simulation is used to present the main characteristics of the method and compare its performance against other current techniques in experimental modal analysis. The modal test of a practical engineering structure is also made using the subspace identification method.24252435Maia, N.M.M., Montalvão, J.M., He, J., Lieven, N.A.J., Lin, R.M., Skingle, G.W., To, W.M., Urtigueira, A.P.V., (1997) Theoretical and Experimental Modal Analysis, , Research Studies, Jonh Wiley & SonsViberg, M., Subspace-based methods for the identification of linear time-invariant systems (1995) Automatica, 31 (12), pp. 1835-1851Kailath, T., (1980) Linear System, , Englewood Cliffs NJ, Prentice HallJuang, J.N., System realization using information matrix (1997) Journal of Guidance, Control and Dynamics, 20 (3), pp. 492-500Cambraia, H.N., (2003) Multivariable Subspace-oriented Techniques Applied in Parameters Modal Identification, p. 160. , Faculadade de Engenharia Mecânica, Universidade Estadual de Campina
