Pronomes Fracos Nulos E Lexicalizados: Das LÍnguas Verdadeiramente Pro-drop Ao PortuguÊs Do Brasil (pb)

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to syntactically derive the interpretative parallelism between SV sentences in null subject languages and Left-Dislocation constructions (LD) in Brazilian Portuguese (BP) and French. Some arguments are presented in favor of the lexical nature of the [+referential] nominative weak pronoun in BP. Based on these arguments, it is proposed that the relevant SV and LD constructions mentioned above project the same syntactic configuration, the difference between them lying in the null or lexicalized character of the nominative weak pronoun.34
