Abstract

Laboratory is one of the unit which produce waste with relatively high hazardous content. Based on data of survey in 2009 -2010, waste water from laboratory of Chemical Engineering Department Gadjah Mada University(CED UGM) contain several dominant harzardous compund such as Cr6+, Cd2+, Zn2+, Hg+, Fe2+, Cu2+, Mn2+, NH4+, NO3-, PO43- and SO42. The dominant and frequently found compound is Cr in a form of Cr6+. CED UGM has had Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) to overcome environmental pollution problem from the waste of each laboratory.
