Dancing Together: Two halves of a whole

Abstract

This article will discuss how video conferencing has been used to bring together dance students from two universities from two different continents separated by an ocean to collaborate and perform together. It will focus on the performance zones that have been codified and how the creative use of bodies (particularly in the Cone of Capture and Zone of Virtual Interplay) has been used to give the visual impression of one company dancing together in a ‘third space’
