Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of Islamic financial literacy, which includes efforts to increase Islamic financial literacy, the benefits obtained by students after receiving Islamic financial literacy education, and supporting and inhibiting factors for Islamic financial literacy. The research was conducted at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta in October 2020. Data collection techniques were through: observation, interviews and documentation. The validity of the data used in the study was data triangulation. The data analysis technique uses a data analysis pattern by following the flow model, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that (1). Increasing Islamic financial literacy in students is implemented through the preparation of the RPS (Semester Learning Plan). Then students are expected to be able to implement and apply the concept of Islamic finance in everyday life, the learning methods applied by lecturers are lectures and discussions. (2) The benefits that students get after receiving education about Islamic finance are that they understand more about the concept of Islamic finance, but the use of financial products and services for students is still low. (3). The supporting factor for increasing Islamic financial literacy in students is the availability of good facilities and infrastructure that support learning and students can attend seminars or workshops on Islamic finance.
