Particle progress

Abstract

Particle technology principles are ubiquitous in the world of material processing, yet there are still many common problems associated with issues such as hopper flow, filtration, segregation, agglomeration, slurry processing, and grinding. While many companies do apply particle technology in manufacturing their products, in my experience few actually realize the impact that it can have, mostly due to a lack of knowledge in the field. As a result of this lack of knowledge there is often a detrimental effect on process development and design, startup and shutdown time, or performance often associated with materials handling and chemistry-related difficulties
