Abstract

Most asteroidal igneous rocks are eucrite-like basalts and gabbros, composed mostly of ferroan low- and high-Ca pyroxenes and calcic plagioclase, plus smaller amounts of silica (most commonly tridymite), ilmenite, chromite, troilite, Ca-phosphate, metal and sometimes ferroan olivine.
