The regional musical instrument is one of the richness of the culture spread all over Indonesia, which must be preserved by the younger generation. The lack of use of technology to preserve local musical instruments makes many of the younger generation who do not know the information of the local musical instruments, thats allowing other countries to steal Indonesian culture. One way to introduce local musical instruments in the younger generation is by using technology Augmented Reality (AR) based on Android. This technology allows users to view information, sound and 3D objects real time from 2D objects. So researchers are inspired to make an application recognition of Android-based same regional instruments using Augmented Reality as a medium of learning. Making this application using software Unity, Vuforia Sdk and using Android Studio for applications can run on the Android platform. The result of making this application is a 3D object from a regional musical instrument, information about the instrument and its sound. The application is in accordance with the planned design
