Advanced engineering design as practiced today from the view point of the CERN Industrial Liaison Officer

Abstract

After an introduction about CERN, a brief description of the Large Hadron Collider(LHC) it is reviewed. Pros and cons of a few advanced engineering design cases are taken in consideration together with the involvement of the European Industry.
