Nonetheless, eHealth interventionsare also well-known to be inferior in terms of sustaining engagementwith their end-users. The EFFIP project is a five-year researchprogramme aiming to develop and evaluate a multi-componenteHealth intervention for carers of people with psychosis.MethodsWe adapted the MRC complex intervention framework to incorporatesignificant participatory research activities involving key stakeholdersand carers as end-users to co-design and co-produce the eHealthintervention, using an agile build process. Further public involvementactivities are integral to the ongoing project oversight and manage-ment of the evaluative study.ResultsCo-production work helped optimise the intervention design. Fur-ther, we conducted a usability study on the prototype involvingcarers to test the delta-build. These have led to the co-production ofan eHealth intervention "COPe-support (Cares fOr People with Psych-osis e-support)" - providing information and psychosocial support forcarers through the internet, promoting flexible access and individual-ized choices.ConclusionsWe believe the co-production work has optimised the interventiondesign and usability fitting the end-users’ needs and usage patternin the real world.
