Parallel zur Wirtschaftssoziologie etablierte sich in den vergangenen Jahren ein interdisziplinär strukturiertes Feld der Finanzsoziologie (Social Studies of Finance). Inspiriert durch die Anthropologie und Soziologie des wissenschaftlichen und technischen Wissens werden wissenssoziologisch professionelle Praktiken des Finanzhandels, die Rolle und Form der Finanzkalkulation sowie technische Entwicklungen in der modernen Finanzwelt untersucht. Der vorliegende Beitrag analysiert wichtige Themenstellungen dieser Studien und arbeitet ihre Differenzen in Bezug auf Markt- und Akteurskonzepte heraus. Detailliert wird die Rolle der Kalkulation am Beispiel des Optionshandels und des bankwirtschaftlichen Risikomanagements dargelegt und herausgearbeitet, in welcher Weise sie die Objekte der Bank- und Finanzwirtschaft konstituiert und ökonomische Wissenspraktiken rahmt.Alongside economic sociology, an interdisciplinary field of financial sociology (Social Studies of Finance) has been developing in recent years. Inspired by the anthropology and sociology of scientific and technical knowledge, the studies in this area explore professional practices of financial trading, the role and form of financial calculation as well as technical developments in the modern financial world. This paper analyses important subjects of these studies and highlights their differences with regard to concepts of market and actors. The role of calculation is explained in detail, using as examples option trading and risk management in banking, with special emphasis being put on the ways in which it comes to constitute the objects of banking and finance and to frame economic knowledge practices
