Harvesting digital data owned by information centers into common data repositories provides significant benefits in the research process. Common data repositories open the way for the research process to be carried out correctly, quickly and reliably. However, it is imperative that the digital data be structured according to the standards of information profession. After describing the usefulness of common data pools in this study, examples are given to common data pools developed around the World here. Then, the digital archives catalog of the General Directorate of State Archives is compared with the examined systems.
