The French are a nation very attached to their culture and tradition, fiercely defending their own ideas and values . Therefore, the French, more than other nations, so stubbornly desire to control every aspect of life, and the language purists try to ensure that the French language does not undergo any changes due to foreign influences. Each emerging word must also be approved by the Académie Française and its 40 professionals called immortels. Without their consent, a given lexeme does not officially exist in the language (Clarke, 2008: 122–123). Although the panel of the French keeps guard over the language, it is a living phenomenon, constantly changing, evolving. It is not resistant to loan-words, anglicisms. Young French people use the English language more and more often and learn it eagerly. However, the inhabitants of France find some difficulties in the process of the language acquisition for they have a tendency to create pseudo-anglicisms, that is forms that do not exist in the English language. Being aware of the existing trends in the acquisition of the English language by the French, we can try to eliminate them from the teaching process, and thus, learning a foreign language.Francuzi to naród bardzo przywiązany do swej kultury i tradycji, zaciekle broniący własnych idei i wartości. Dlatego też Francuzi właśnie, bardziej niż inne narody, tak uparcie pragną kontroli nad każdym aspektem życia, a puryści językowi dbają o to, by język francuski nie ulegał jakimkolwiek zmianom i wpływom. Każde nowo pojawiające się słowo musi również zdobyć aprobatę Académie française i jej 40 specjalistów zwanych immortels. Bez ich zgody dany leksem oficjalnie w języku nie istnieje (Clarke, 2008: 122–123). Mimo sztabu Francuzów czuwających na straży języka, język jest tworem żywym, innymi słowy, stale się zmienia, ewoluuje. Przestaje być odporny na zapożyczenia, anglicyzmy. Młodzi Francuzi coraz częściej używają języka angielskiego i chętnie się go uczą. Sam proces przyswajania tego języka sprawia jednak mieszkańcom Francji pewne trudności. Mają oni bowiem tendencję do tworzenia pseudoanglicyzmów, form słowotwórczych, które nie funkcjonują w języku angielskim. Wiedząc o zaistniałych tendencjach w akwizycji języka angielskiego przez Francuzów, możemy postarać się o to, by je wyeliminować w procesie nauczania, a tym samym procesie uczenia się języka obcego
