Dynamika systematycznego wzrostu, nowoczesna przestrzeń intelektu, labirynt znaków, magia zaangażowanych w swoją pracę ludzi z pasją – to tylko kilka haseł, które przychodzą na myśl, kiedy chcemy przywołać nazwę Biblioteki Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego i 70 lat jej historii. Łódź przed dwoma wiekami powstawała z tradycji niejednorodnych, i podobnie powstawał – jako mozaika różnych treści intelektualnych – Uniwersytet Łódzki.Popularization of science and culture by the Library of Łódź University has always been vital aspect of its activities.
In the article are presented some selected initiatives taken up by The Library in the years 2006–2014. They originated in order to reach a wide circle of people and popularize the institution friendly to them, through conferences, seminars, exhibitions and meetings with interesting people from the world of the book. In the given period, The University of Łódź Repository and The Digital Library were created. The American Corner and The British Centre came into being.
Owing to different initiatives taken up, The Library of Łódź University has become the place of various scientific, educational and cultural events for all users
