Miasto postindustrialne jest wypadkową różnorodnych wpływów, stąd konieczna jest
rekonstrukcja całościowej jego wizji. Jednocześnie jest ono w stanie płynności i niezrównowa-
żenia, co podważa statystyczne i ilościowe ujęcie zjawisk miejskich. Współczesne miasto jest
wielokulturowe – kluczową jego figurą jest „obcy”. Obliguje to geografów do zmiany modelu
badań ludności miejskiej.
Nie da się dzisiejszego miasta zrozumieć bez jego głównego atrybutu – ruchu. Wymaga to
przejścia od koncepcji miasta statycznego do wizji miasta kinetycznego. Pewne zdarzenia miejskie
mają przypadkową naturę i kreują „miejsca”, które stają się kluczową kategorią opisującą
wydarzeniowy charakter miasta. Trzeba więc częściowo zrezygnować z zasady organizowania
przestrzeni jako funkcji lub z punktu widzenia norm ekonomicznych, estetycznych, techniczno-
-użytkowych.Post-industrial city is a product of various influences hence the reconstruction of
holistic vision is needed. At the same time city is in constant state of fluctuation and is in
unsustainable form. These conditions impose rejection of static, quantitative approach to
urban phenomena. Contemporary city is multicultural – the main actor is “a stranger”.
That obliges geographers to change of the model of researches of urban population.
It is impossible to understand city without its main feature – movement. It requires
change from the static city concept to concept of kinetic city. Urban events are incidental
but creates “places”, which become significant for the image of the city. One needs to
renounce the rule of functional organization of space and recode its economical,
technical and aesthetic meanings
