Competency Gaps of Potential Managers in the Context of the Transformation of Roles and Managerial Skills

Abstract

The paper presents the results of research (conducted with using content analysis), which aim was to determine which areas of students` competence require further improvement. The analysis included 444 students` written statement. The results of research preceded by a brief overview of views on the roles and management skills and the research in the area of competency gaps.W opracowaniu zaprezentowano wyniki badań własnych prowadzonych metodą analizy treści, których celem było sprawdzenie, w jakich obszarach kompetencyjnych studenci kierunku Zarządzanie Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego zauważają u siebie luki wymagające dalszego doskonalenia. Analizą objęto 444 pisemnych wypowiedzi studentów. Rezultaty badawcze poprzedzono krótkim przeglądem poglądów na temat ról i umiejętności kierowniczych oraz badań w obszarze luk kompetencyjnych
