The aim of the paper is to describe History and technical parameters of Ľubochnianska Electrified Railway (original Slovak name ―,Ľubochnianska elektrofikovaná lesná ţeleznica‖). It was put into operation in 1903 and was used till 1966. It represented timeless wood transporting technology of the mentioned period. The paper can contribute to the discussion aimed at the issue of closing the railway line in terms of ecology. Low prices of fossil fuels for working machines and cars were considered the main reasons to close the railway line
