Abstract

Abstract The study aims at examining the influence of problem based learning model on problem solving ability, interest, and students’ learning result in Biology at MAN 3 Biringkanaya in Makassar. The study was quasi experiment research which employed non-equivalent control group design. The populations of the study were all study groups of grade XI IPA at MAN 3 Biringkanaya in Makassar of academic year 2017/2018. Samples were selected by employing simple random sampling technique. Data were collected by employing test and non test. Data were analyzed by employing descriptive statistics analysis and inferensial statistics analysis with MANCOVA. The result of inferential satistics analysis with reveal that (i) there is influence of problem based learning model on problem solving ability of students at MAN 3 Biringkanaya Makassar with significant value 0,000<0,05, (ii) there is influence of problem based learning model on students’ interest with significant value 0,003<0,05, and (iii) there is influence of problem based learning model on students’ learning result with significant value 0,000<0,05.
