The author presents an outline of the theology of beauty drawing from the Bible, Church Fathers from both the East and the West, as well as contemporary theologians. The reference point is the biblical story of creation, where God calls everything he creates good- beautiful, filled with light. Ugliness creeps into this reality along with original sin. This darkness of sin can be transformed back into light with the coming of „the most beautiful of human sons", the God-Man: Christ. Artists serve beauty in its proper sense and they are called to continue the work of creation in the world by creating the good- the beautiful.Politechnika Białostocka105-11
