In Italy, with reference to assessment of energy performance of buildings, the legislation currently in force still provides for the use of averaged monthly calculation methods. In anticipation of a gradual transition to more accurate calculation methods based on dynamic evaluations, it is of fundamental importance to know the differences in prediction of these different methods (averaged monthly and hourly calculation), with particular reference to those indicated in the European technical standards.
With this study, the authors want to push forward the knowledge by using the results of simulations obtained on a sample of single-family and offices buildings. This study is part of a wider research activity aimed at the comparative analysis of the energy demand of new buildings, using averaged monthly and hourly calculation methods
