UK bank regulation and supervision: an assessment

Abstract

This work assesses the continuing development of bank supervision in the U.K. Particular attention is focused on the recently published Bank of England discussion papers in this field. Emphasis is placed on the issues of monetary control, capital adequacy and liquidity. The latter two are prudential concepts.
