TEST OF RESULTS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF EIGHT VARIETIES OF POTATO PLANT (Solanum tuberosum L.) IN THE HIGH PLANTS OF PUJON KIDUL PUJON SUB-DISTRICT, MALANG EAST JAVA

Abstract

In Indonesia, potato cultivation is mostly cultivated in highland areas (1000 - 3000 masl) with potato production centers are: West Java, Central Java, East Java, South Sulawesi, North Sumatra, West Sumatra and Jambi. In 2017, potato production in Indonesia reached ± 1 164 738 tons per year with a harvest area of ​​75,611 hectares. Has decreased compared to data in 2016 which reached 1,231,304 with a harvest area of ​​66,450 hectares The decline in potato production can be triggered by poor quality seeds, land planted with potatoes, pest and disease attacks, poor storage, and inappropriate harvesting.
