Many different reasons against belief in divine action, particularly miracles have been presented. However, arguments based on classical deterministic physics are perhaps the most popular. In the theology and science literature, this argument has been challenged primarily by challenging the determinism of physics based on new scientific discoveries. However, recent philosophical and theological discussion has instead focused on criticizing the philosophical and theological premises of the argument from classical science against miracles. The purpose of this article is to explore these new arguments and build bridges between the theology and science community and analytic philosophers of religion following Alvin Plantinga and William Alston.Peer reviewe
