Autoarquivamento na Ciência da Informação: uma análise dos documentos depositados no repositório digital e-LIS

Abstract

It discusses self-archiving practices in Information Science and the contributions of the E-prints in Library and Information Science repository to open scientific communication in the field. The study is quantitative and descriptive, exploratory, and uses bibliometric analysis as a methodological support for the measurement of scientific indicators. Data collection and analysis instruments were built using Python programming language. About 34,000 documents were archived in the repository between 2002 and 2019. The most frequent document typologies are journal article (47%), conference article (18%), presentation (8%), book chapter (6%) . Topics covered are “Information Use and Sociology of Information”, “Information Technology and Library Technology” and “Information Treatment for Information Services”. The results are partial and represent an overview of documents deposited in the repository
