The treatment of acute bronchitis [Akut bronşit tedavisi]

Abstract

Acute bronchitis is a common clinical disorder characterized by acute inflammation of tracheobronchial tree. Viruses (influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, adeovirus etc.) are the most common etiologic agents. Bacterial agents, especially Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydia pneumoniae and Bordatella pertussis rarely cause acute bronchitis. Because the disorder is mostly caused by viral agents, treatment is usually symptomatic. Antitussive, protussive and bronchodilatator drugs can be used, but routine antibiotic treatment Is not recommended in uncomplicated acute bronchitis
