This article reflects on the correct name given to the locutions used in the lofoscopic expert reports. In addition, the controversy over whether or not the fingerprint test is an expert report, its scientific and jurisprudential recognition, the methods of differentiation between them for the identification and the type of evidence they suppose are reviewed
