Applicability of Socratic methods in modern education

Abstract

Suvremeni odgojitelj/ica ima pregršt metoda kako bi na poučan i zabavan način djeci prikazao/la temeljna znanja, no od čega je to proizašlo, što je temelj? Zadatak ovoga završnoga rada je prikazati povijesni razvoj nekih od temeljnih karakteristika vezanih za odgoj i obrazovanje, odnosno usporediti odgojno-obrazovni proces i metode od njihova samoga postanka do današnjeg, suvremenog doba. Započeo je Sokrat, nastavio Rousseau, nadopunio Dewey. Svaka osoba u odgojno-obrazovnom sustavu koja na bilo koji način sudjeluje u odgoju je pridonijela razvoju ovoga sustava koji se stalno mijenja, ali i zadržava temeljnu srž – potaknuti djecu da dođu do znanja.Contemporary educators have a wealth of methods to teach their children basic knowledge in an instructive and entertaining way, but what did it come from, what is the foundation? The purpose of this final paper is to show the historical development of some of the basic characteristics related to education, to compare the educational process and methods from their very beginnings to the present, modern time. Socrates began, continued Rousseau, supplemented Dewey. Everyone in the educational system who in any way participates in education has contributed to the development of this system that is constantly changing but also retaining its core - encourage children to reach knowledge
