Abstract

Mediante este proyecto se pretende de avanzar en la construcción, caracterización y operación de una cámara portátilpara la medición del flujo direccional de muones atmosféricos. A partir de las variaciones observadas en el flujoque atraviesa una estructura de interés, es posible determinar la densidad del material a lo largo de la dirección depropagación de los muones. Esta técnica, conocida como radiografía Muónica o simplemente Muongrafía será orientadaa la realización de imágenes densitométricas de objetos masivos opacos a otras formas de radiación. La cámara enestudio será utilizada para realizar muongrafías de grandes estructuras como ser alto hornos, presas o volcanes.This project aims to advance the construction, characterization and operation of a portable camera for the measurement of the directional flow of atmospheric muons. From the variations observed in the flow through a structure of interest, it is possible to determine the density of the material along the direction of propagation of the muons. This technique, known as Muon Radiography or simply Muongraphy will be oriented to the realization of densitometric images of massive objects opaque to other forms of radiation. The camera under study will be used to make large structures such as blast furnaces, dams or volcanoes
