Una revisió de les crescudes de 1949 a la plana del Xúquer-Túria

Abstract

El presente trabajo revisa las riadas de 1949, poco antes de que las obras de regulación alteraran el régimen de los ríos principales. Ese año se registraron al menos tres crecidas de diversa magnitud y tipología (invierno, primavera, otoño) en el litoral valenciano. En la primera parte del trabajo se documentan y describen las acontecidas en la llanura aluvial de los ríos Júcar y Turia, principalmente a partir de noticias de prensa. La segunda parte analiza y reconstruye las características hidrológicas de la avenida del 28 de septiembre en el Camp de Turia y L’Horta de València dada su magnitud extraordinaria. También se incide en el carácter vulnerable de la sociedad y en el impacto de aquella riada sobre el territorio.This paper looks at the river floods that occurred in 1949 just before the river patterns of the main rivers were altered by the regulation works. At least three river floods with different magnitude and typology (winter, spring and autumn) were recorded at the Valencian coast at that time. The first part of this paper documents and describes the floods that occurred in the Júcar and Turia flood plain, with the information being mainly extracted from newspapers. The second part analyses and reconstructs the hydrological characteristics related to the river flood of the 28th of September in the Camp del Turia and l’Horta de Valencia areas due to its extraordinary magnitude.
