Fotografias 171Este estudio describe los resultados de investigación del proyecto aplicado titulado “Formación en primeros auxilios psicológicos por intento de suicidio, para el personal médico y paramédico del Hospital Ismael Perdomo de Villahermosa – Tolima, parte de un requisito para optar al título de Magíster en Psicología Comunitaria, por ello, se plantea como objetivo principal el identificar las acciones que los médicos y paramédicos implementen en términos de proteger y acompañar a los pacientes que consultan en el Hospital Ismael Perdomo de Villahermosa – Tolima, frente a la atención de un intento de suicidio.
Se utiliza el enfoque cualitativo, ya que el tema de estudio ha sido poco explorado o no se ha hecho investigación al respecto, entre los resultados principales se ve la necesidad de implementar la teoría de la salud mental comunitaria, ya que la ideación suicida y el intento suicida es fácil de identificar para prevenir e intervenir. Se considera que es un proyecto aplicado asertivo porque muchos de los participantes expresan en las entrevistas el desconocimiento que tenían del tema, dónde estaban fallando, cuales son las cosas que realmente necesita el paciente y aceptaron que estaban vulnerando ciertos derechos de las personas al remitirlos sin haberles prestado esa primera ayuda psicológica y que a partir del momento pueden prestar los primeros auxilios psicológicos en caso que no se cuente con una psicóloga en el momento.This study describes the research results of the applied project entitled "Training in psychological first aid for attempted suicide, for medical and paramedical personnel of the Ismael Perdomo Hospital in Villahermosa - Tolima, part of a requirement to qualify for the Master's degree in Community Psychology Therefore, the main objective is to identify the actions that doctors and paramedics implement in terms of protecting and accompanying the patients who consult at the Ismael Perdomo Hospital in Villahermosa - Tolima, in the face of a suicide attempt.
The qualitative approach is used, since the subject of study has been little explored or no research has been done in this regard, among the main results is the need to implement the theory of community mental health, since suicidal ideation and Suicidal attempt is easy to identify to prevent and intervene. It is considered to be an assertive work because many of the participants in the interviews express their ignorance of the subject, where they were failing, what are the things that the patient really needs and they accepted that they were violating certain rights of the people by referring them without having provided that first psychological help and that from the moment they can provide psychological first aid in case a psychologist is not available at the time
